Product Recall Trends in Connectivity: Q4 2020

In Q4 of 2020, the number of unsafe product notifications for connectivity products increased in both the EU and the USA, compared to the previous quarter.

Notifications in the EU increased 31% on Q3, 2020 with 101 products notified as unsafe. The main product categories were luminaires and IT and telecommunications. The main risk in both was for electric shock, though in luminaires 15 UV sterilizers were notified unsafe for risk of burns and damage to eyesight.

In the USA, unsafe product notification increased 150% (15 products). The main product categories were audio, video and household appliances and IT and telecommunications, with the main risks for fire and injury.
