China has issued an updated version of its product standard – FZ/T 62017-2024 – for toweling gowns. The revised standard will become effective on July 1, 2026.
The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has issued industry standard FZ/T 62017-2024 - Toweling gown, which was included in the No. 18 announcement of approved industry standards in December 2024. This new industry standard will become effective on July 1, 2026.
This document applies to woven toweling garments that are mainly made of textile fibers, including gowns, bath dresses, shower caps, etc.
Safety requirements should comply with the rules in GB 18401. Toweling gowns for infants and children should also comply with the rules in GB 31701.
The requirements for internal quality shall comply with the rules in table 1 of FZ/T 62017-2024. Test items include fiber content, breaking force, seam strength, colorfastness to washing with soap or soap and soda, colorfastness to rubbing, colorfastness to chlorine, dimensional change after washing, bibulous multiple, absorbency property, fiber shedding and water extraction material within the towel.
