Market demand for recycled polyester has been growing fast in recent years due to global promotion of a circular economy. As the world’s biggest recycled polyester production country, China has recently published a new national standard to guide the industry’s development and promote the quality of recycled polyester fiber.
The Standardization Administration of China has issued a national standard for ecological technical requirements for recycled poly(ethylene terephthalate) fiber, GB/T 40351-2021, which was included in China’s No. 11 announcement of approved national standards in 2021. It became effective on March 1, 2022.
This standard applies to undyed recycled polyester and spun-dyed recycled polyester. Other types of recycled polyester can refer to this document.
Terminology and definitions
