Bangladesh mandates safety standards for consumer products, including toys and plastic feeding bottles.
In June 2026, Bangladesh’s Ministry of Industries issued two notifications mandating compliance with several national standards and the Standard Mark for various categories of consumer goods, including toys and plastic feeding bottles:
- R.O. No 232-Act/2026 of June 22, 2026 (the Act), prohibits the sale, distribution and commercial advertisement of specified products unless they comply with designated standards
- R.O. No 233-Act/2026 of June 22, 2026, mandates the use of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) mark for compliant products mentioned above
