SafeGuardSToys and Juvenile ProductsMarch 23, 2026

SG 042/26

Hong Kong updates several standards for toys and children’s products, effective August 1, 2026.

In Hong Kong, toys and children’s products must comply with all applicable requirements in any one of the safety standards specified in Schedule 1 (Toy Standards) or Schedule 2 (Schedule 2 Product Standards) of the Toys and Children’s Products Safety Ordinance (the Ordinance, Cap.424).

On March 13, 2026, Hong Kong published the Toys and Children’s Products Safety Ordinance (Amendment of Schedules 1 and 2) Notice 2026, revising safety standards for toys and four categories of children’s products under the Ordinance.

Highlights of the amendment are summarized in Table 1.
