Ukraine has issued the nation’s EU REACH-like regulation for the management of chemicals. The new law will enter into force on January 26, 2025.
On July 26, 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (Кабінет Міністрів України) published Resolution No. 847 of July 23, 2024, (Resolution No. 847/2024) ‘On approval of the Technical Regulation on the Safety of Chemical Products’ (Ukraine REACH), in the nation’s official gazette. This technical regulation, modeled on Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 ‘Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH, consolidated version to June 2024 for reference) in the EU, is a comprehensive piece of legislation for the management of chemicals that aims to provide a high level of protection to human health and the environment. Resolution No. 847/2024 will become effective on January 26, 2025 – six months after the date of its publication.
