China Releases a New Product Standard for touch cool feeling knitted clothing–FZ/T 73067-2020

The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued an industry standard FZ/T 73067-2020 <Touch cool feeling knitted clothing> which was included in No. 48 announcement of the approved industry standards list in December 2020. This new industry standard became effective on April 1, 2021.

Scope

This standard is applicable to knitted clothing made mainly of knitted fabrics with a contact transient cool feeling function. It is not applicable to clothing for infants less than 36 months.

Definition of Contact Transient Cool Feeling

A rapid heat and temperature drop occurs when the skin comes into direct contact with the lower temperature fabric. A cool feeling is generated in the brain via the reflection of the sensory nerve endings in the skin. 

Main Technical Contents

Requirements include internal quality and appearance quality.

• Internal quality
  Including fibre content, formaldehyde content, pH value, odour, decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amines, dimensional change after laundering, spirality after laundering, colourfastness to water, colourfastness to perspiration, colourfastness to rubbing, colourfastness to light, colourfastness to light with artificial perspiration, colourfastness to laundering, colourfastness to transfer of adjoining colours, pilling, bursting strength, force to rupture back crotch seam of trouser, contact cool feeling coefficient and appearance quality after laundering. The detailed requirements can refer to table 1 of this standard. 
  
  Additionally, touch cool feeling knitted clothing for children (ages3 to 14 years) shall also comply with the rules of GB 31701.

• Appearance quality
  Includes appearance defects, dimension tolerance, dimension difference in symmetric position, sewing requirements. The detailed requirements can refer to clause 5.3 of this standard.
