SGS acquires MIS Environmental Ltd. and MIS Testing Ltd., UK
SGS is pleased to announce the strengthening of its environmental and Industrial operations in the UK through the acquisition of MIS Environmental Ltd. and MIS Testing Ltd., both based in Consett with offices in Manchester and Livingston.
MIS Environmental Ltd., founded in 1982 and privately owned, is a leading laboratory offering a vast spectrum of experience in asbestos, environmental and health and safety testing and consultancy services. Combined with current SGS chemical testing and Climate Change Programme, it will support the strategy, grow the network and expand expertise into a new range of services covering the full value chain, from field to data interpretation. MIS Environmental Ltd. employs 72 highly skilled staff and is expected to generate 2013 Revenues of £ 4.2 million.
MIS Testing Ltd., founded in 1983 and privately owned, is one of the most important mechanical and material testing laboratories in the UK. It offers a full range of mechanical testing including a comprehensive machining service and non-destructive testing (radiography, magnetic particle, ultrasonic). This acquisition is in line with the Industrial Services’ global strategy and complements the current local offering. MIS Testing Ltd. employs 55 experts and is expected to generate 2013 Revenues of £ 3.7 million.
