Canada Proposes to Amend the Products Containing Mercury Regulations for Some Lighting Categories

Amendments to the Products Containing Mercury Regulations of Canada have been proposed to adjust the mercury content limits for fluorescent lamps to align with limits proposed in the UN’s Minamata Convention on Mercury.

US EPA Announces New Compliance Date for Composite Wood Products

The US EPA has announced a new compliance date for formaldehyde emissions in composite wood products. The compliance date of December 12, 2018 has been brought forward to June 1, 2018.
Publication of a European Standard on Mattresses for Cots and Cribs

In May 2017, CEN published a new European standard, EN 16890:2017 concerning mattresses used for young children in cots and cribs. The standard is now published in all European countries, except France where publication is expected in the coming weeks.
