On August 8, 2025, we were pleased to issue the world’s first CB certificate for a DC electric vehicle charging station compliant with the newly revised IEC 61851-23:2023 standard. This marks a significant milestone for the global new energy sector.
The updated IEC standard strengthens requirements for DC charging stations in areas such as:
Meeting these requirements demands extensive laboratory testing, including thousands of dynamic operating data sets, rigorous limit trials and interoperability checks.
To meet the stringent requirements of IEC 61851-23:2023, we leveraged TeREES® L2 laboratory digitalization architecture. Using the Lab-UP® automated testing module, we developed a ‘DC Charger Operation & Data Acquisition Automation Plugin’ that automates the entire testing chain – from sequencing and data capture to report generation.
Key advantages include:
The TeREES® L2 Lab Efficiency Enhancement Solution not only shortens time-to-market and lowers compliance barriers but also provides reusable technology that accelerates innovation globally, transforming laboratories into value engines for the new energy sector.
Our global network of state-of-the-art laboratories test DC charging stations across 1 kW to 720 kW, spanning public fast-charging, fleet depots and commercial facilities. Modular configurations support customized power stages and diverse grid/market requirements worldwide.
IEC CB certificates are recognized by IECEE CB scheme member countries, enabling seamless pathways to local safety approvals in 53 countries and regions.
Benefits include:
We continue to extend automated test systems into energy storage, smart grids and hydrogen fuel cells, upgrading hardware and AI analytics to help enterprises track evolving standards, complete multi-market certifications efficiently and strengthen product competitiveness in the global new-energy surge.
