With new mechanical testing equipment, the 17,000 square foot testing laboratory provides a one stop shop for manufacturers and retailers seeking a complete mattress testing service.
SGS’s specialist team can now undertake new performance tests: durability, impact and Cornell (firmness retention and surface deformation), along with a number of flammability tests covering the following standards for the US and the EU:

- Flammability: BFD IX-11
- Flammability: 16 CFR Part 1632 and Part 1633

The addition of mechanical testing complements SGS’s New York testing lab’s flammability testing capability.
