SGS Extends GLP Service in France

Seed and Crop NewsSGS UpdatesNovember 05, 2021

SGS France has extended its good laboratory practice (GLP) capabilities at its Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray GLP test site.

GLP-accredited since 2012, the Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray field test site operates alongside its neighboring Laboratoire de Rouen, which itself has enjoyed GLP accreditation since 1997. Employees at these two facilities work together to conduct physical/chemical studies; ecotoxicology and biodegradability tests; studies on behavior in water, soil and air; residue studies; and method validation.

What's changed?

For nearly 25 years, the Laboratoire de Rouen has continually invested in new technology to provide key GLP analytical studies, with a view to supporting challenging projects such as those involving enantioselective methods. To further extend its GLP capabilities, SGS has recently also invested in its Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray field testing site. It can now provide a turnkey service for developing new pesticides, for biocides homologation and for renewal approval.

Two new API 6500+ LC-MS-MS systems have been installed, one of which can be equipped with a SelexION module. This means that the laboratory can now handle all projects relating to ion mobility, with a selectivity level of triple quadrupole for small and/or interfered molecules, or for challenging matrices.

SGS has also increased the number of highly qualified technicians, technical managers, and GLP Study Directors to support the growing demand for residue testing and fast turnaround times.

Why SGS?

SGS is committed to serving the pesticide and biocide industry with precise, fast and reliable analysis of residues in nearly all environmental and crop matrices, including:

  • Water
  • Soil
  • Air
  • Bodily fluids
  • Animal matrices
  • Crops
  • Processed crops
  • Plant tissues
  • Pollen
  • Nectar
  • Honey
  • Consumables
  • Matrices generated in dust-off studies, dislodgeable foliar residue (DFR) studies, occupational and bystander exposure studies, and ecotoxicological studies

This development at SGS's Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray site is the latest in a long line of investments. The group now boasts 29 LC-MS-MS instruments for GLP residue analysis in laboratories in Brazil, the US and across Europe.

SGS serves key markets worldwide, offering method development and validation, independent laboratory validation (ILV), retrofit validation, storage stability testing and residue testing. Take advantage of SGS's unmatched experience, capability and capacity to meet all your GLP residue testing needs.
