SGS UpdatesDecember 17, 2020

SGS has announced its appointment by Gate Group to deliver food safety and COVID-19 Safety Control auditing services across the company's global airline catering facilities.

Headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, Gate Group operates the most extensive catering network in the aviation industry, serving more than 700 million passengers annually from over 200 operating units in over 60 countries/territories across all continents.

SGS will audit facilities against Gate Group's own Food Safety Checklist and SGS's own COVID-19 Safety Control program to ensure compliance to World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines on Novel Coronavirus (SARS-COV-2), the virus that spreads COVID-19.

Olivier Coppey, Executive Vice President of SGS Agriculture, Food and Life, said: "We're proud to be working with Gate Group to help speed its recovery from the impact of the pandemic. By implementing the highest standards of safety, this audit program will enable Gate Group to demonstrate to clients and customers an independently verified hygiene and food safety culture across its food premises."

"COVID-19 has brought new challenges and it is of paramount importance that we continue to provide strong support to our customers to ensure they can resume and maintain their operations with confidence."
