SGS's toy laboratory in Hong Kong, China has been accredited to carry out testing on toy products against the China Compulsory Certification (CCC).
The mandatory certification program, overseen by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China (CNCA), covers 17 product categories, including toys falling within the following four product areas:
- Electric toys
- Plastic toys
- Metal toys
- Ride-on toys
With CCC accreditation, SGS is now well-placed to help manufacturers gain access to Chinese markets, guiding them through the 4-step certification process:
- Submission of application for certification and supporting materials
- Testing of toys and declaration of conformity
- Evaluation of certification results, and approval/rejection of certification
- Follow-up inspection – required six-monthly for successful applications
