SGS Receives EcoVadis Gold Rating for Third Consecutive Year

SGS is pleased to announce that we have received a Gold rating from EcoVadis, which operates the first collaborative platform to provide supplier sustainability ratings and performance improvement tools for global supply chains.

This is the third consecutive year that we have achieved this rating. Over this time, our performance has improved significantly, enabling us to reach an advanced level of corporate social responsibility (CSR) engagement, alongside only three percent of the several thousand other companies evaluated.

Our advanced level of engagement makes it easier for our clients to monitor risks in their supply chains and fosters transparency and trust among their partners. It ensures that we have the means to accurately track our progress so we can improve performance.

We were assessed based on our approach to sustainability management in regard to four themes: environment, labor practices, fair business practices and sustainable procurement. These themes were further divided into 21 criteria.

To come up with our score, EcoVadis examined our policies and measures, as well as our reporting surrounding the environment, labor practices and human rights, fair business practices and sustainable procurement issues. Our Gold rating was based on our answers to a customized online questionnaire and information supplied in supporting documents, publicly available information and information from government organizations, NGOs, trade unions, research institutes and other stakeholders.

The EcoVadis methodology is built on international CSR standards including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the United Nations Global Compact, and ISO 26000. It covers 150 spend categories and 140 countries.
