SGS Acquires the Environmental Company EKO-PROJEKT LTD Pszczyna Poland

SGS is pleased to announce the acquisition of Environmental Company EKO-PROJEKT LTD, Pszczyna, Poland.

EKO-PROJEKT is the leading Polish environmental and analytical services provider with a strong focus on sampling and laboratory analysis of water, wastewater, solid waste, soil and landfill monitoring as required by EU regulations. It also offers environmental data management, digital mapping and modeling of environmental threats as well as comprehensive analytical services for industry and for the consulting sector. In 2010, EKO-PROJEKT will begin to offer stack emission analysis.

Founded in 2000 and privately owned, it employs 167 staff and has laboratories and offices in Pszczyna, Pila, Poznan, Wroclaw, Dzialdowo, Nowa Sarzyna and Lezajsk. In 2008, EKO-PROJEKT generated revenues of PLN 15 million (CHF 5.4 million).

Through this acquisition, SGS becomes the leader in the emerging Polish environmental services market.
