SGS is pleased to announce the strategic acquisition of Canadian Environmental and Metallurgical Inc. (CEMI), a Canadian company with its head office in Vancouver, British Columbia.
In business for over 10 years, CEMI has an exceptional understanding of the environmental issues that face the global mining industry. They provide acid rock drainage testing, innovative and practical water treatment solutions, environmental research and water treatment flowsheet development, engineering and commissioning to the international minerals industry. CEMI has revenues of CAD 4.9 mio and 18 employees.
“This acquisition fits exactly with our drive to fulfil the entire minerals value chain with innovative and state of the art technologies," said Chris Kirk, CEO of SGS. CEMI’s technical expertise will be integrated with that of SGS Minerals Services, thus strengthening SGS’s position as the key provider of environmentally sustainable metallurgical services worldwide. "We view this very positively and look forward to realising the synergies that will result.”
