SGS Industries & Environment (I&E) & Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Team in Saudi Arabia takes a leap forward by being granted by the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu for Fugitive Emission Monitoring in the kingdom under their jurisdiction.

Fugitive emissions are emissions of gases or vapours from pressurized equipment due to leaks and other unintended or irregular releases of gases, mostly from industrial activities. Besides the economic cost of lost commodities, fugitive emissions contribute to air pollution and climate change. It has costly consequences for the health and safety of employees and society in general, it could also have adverse effects on profits.

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) could be contributing to greenhouse gas emissions or increasing the risk of fire and explosion. Hence, fugitive emissions monitoring helps reduce pollutions, improve climatic conditions, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and improve bottom lines, thereby enabling a better, safer and more interconnected world.

SGS Saudi Arabia has been approved by the regulatory body Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, for fugitive emission monitoring in the kingdom under their jurisdiction. SGS has a team of experts to carry out Fugitive Emission Monitoring campaigns, i.e. to check all plant equipment (such as pumps, compressors, flanges, valves, connectors, pressure relief valves). SGS can also conduct Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) survey in industries for legal compliance.
