Challenges and Solutions for Food Contact Plastics in a Circular Economy

Join this complimentary webinar to learn more about current European regulations for recycled food contact materials.

Is your food contact materials (FCM) business moving towards the model of a circular economy? The concepts of sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling are increasingly becoming a commercial necessity. But the changes and innovations in both manufacturing and statutory responsibility that these require can be very daunting, especially with individual market variations in material types, their uses, limitations and specifications.

In this complimentary webinar, SGS experts will explore the use of packaging in a circular economy. They will provide an introduction to current European regulations (including those in France, Germany and the UK) that govern the use of FCM, with regard to single-use and recycled plastics – and also explore how SGS’s services can help your business overcome the difficulties that these complex and fast-changing statutory requirements pose.

Agenda

  • Introduction to packaging
  • Regulation of a circular economy
  • Single-use plastics Directive 2019/904/EC
  • French, German and British requirements
  • Recycled plastics FCM Regulation EC (No) 282/2008
  • SGS solutions
  • Conclusion/Q&A

The webinar, which will be a 45-minute presentation followed by a 15-minute Q&A session, is aimed at the quality management and purchase departments of retailers and manufacturers of FCM products.
