In the first quarter of 2021, the EU and USA both saw a decline in unsafe product notifications for softlines items.
Fashion jewelry, clothing and textiles were the products most commonly recalled in the EU (73 products) and the main risks identified were chemical and injury.
Just one product was recalled in the USA – a pack of nose piercings and body bars – which pose a risk of skin irritation.
