Cyberport and SGS Launch “AI Trust: ISO/IEC 42001 AIMS Training Pathway” Programme

October 14, 2026

Cyberport and SGS today announced the launch of the new “AI Trust: ISO/IEC 42001 AIMS Training Pathway” programme. The programme aims to strengthen trustworthy AI governance capabilities and equip participants to address increasingly complex technical governance, risk management, regulatory and compliance challenges in the deployment of AI.

In the era of “AI for all”, the training pathway is centred on ISO/IEC 42001, the world’s first international standard for AI management systems. It provides comprehensive coverage of key areas including AI governance, risk management, compliance requirements and continual improvement. The programme enables participants to gain an in-depth understanding of the requirements and best practices set out in the international standards, thereby empowering enterprises to implement AI responsibly and strengthening stakeholder confidence. It will also help nurture a talent pool with internationally recognised knowledge and professional qualifications in AI management systems, supporting the sustainable development of the AI ecosystem in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.

Provided by the Professional Evaluation and Certification Board (PECB), the training pathway covers three core ISO/IEC 42001 courses: Foundation, Lead Implementer and Lead Auditor. Participants can undertake self-paced online learning through the SGS Academy Hong Kong’s iLearn platform, allowing them to arrange their study flexibly around their schedules. Upon successful completion, participants will receive PECB-recognised continuing professional development (CPD) hours and an e-certificate of completion.

Throughout the programme, participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the core requirements and best practices of ISO/IEC 42001, enabling enterprises to establish systematic AI governance frameworks and strengthen their capabilities in managing AI-related risks, compliance requirements and responsible AI applications. The flexible learning model is well-suited to enterprises of different sizes, innovation and technology teams, research institutions and professionals, and is particularly relevant to enterprises and teams using Cyberport’s AI Supercomputing Centre (AISC), reinforcing Cyberport’s commitment to promoting responsible AI development and driving digital transformation.

AI is not only a major driver of global technological development, but also an area in which Cyberport has developed substantial expertise through its long-standing focus on innovation and technology. SGS brings extensive experience and professional credibility in testing, inspection, and certification, which closely aligns with Cyberport’s commitment to promoting the responsible AI development. Through this collaboration, we hope to equip enterprises and their employees with knowledge of international standards and best practices, while further strengthening Hong Kong’s AI talent pool.”

Miranda Kwan, Director of Business Assurance at SGS in Hong Kong, stated: “We are pleased to collaborate with Cyberport to support the industry through the ISO/IEC 42001 training programme. By helping stakeholders adopt international standards and strengthen their AI risk management capabilities and the trustworthiness of AI systems, the programme will lay a solid foundation for responsible AI development in Hong Kong.”

As a PECB-authorised training partner, SGS is also committed to working with Cyberport to nurture AI talent equipped with internationally recognised knowledge and practical capabilities. Under the collaboration framework, Cyberport and SGS will record and verify participants’ practical experience across different technology fields through project-based practice and verification mechanisms. This will support the establishment of internationally recognised records of AI talent development and further promote the training and career development of AI professionals. The training is designed for professionals across a range of roles, including AI developers, project leads, compliance officers and risk-management professionals. It equips participants with practical skills relevant to their respective roles, while providing effective support for the planning, implementation and oversight of AI-related projects.

The courses are now open for enrolment through the Cyberport Academy. They are open to enterprises and individuals committed to advancing AI development, with no limit on enrolment*.
