To guarantee the safety and quality of their products, they have been working with the CEBEC quality mark. As SGS CEBEC celebrates its 100th anniversary, we asked Rony Haentjens, Standardization and Certification Manager at Niko, to reflect on our long-standing partnership.
What advantages does the CEBEC label have for your products?
“The CEBEC quality mark is a quality label issued by an independent party based on Belgian standards. The quality mark gives consumers the reassurance that the products have been developed and manufactured safely and in compliance with the legal standards.”
How has the CEBEC mark helped you grow your business?
“Niko has a very long cooperation with SGS CEBEC. For Niko, making sure our products are both high-quality and safe to use has always been a priority. By making a major contribution to the quality and safety of our products, the CEBEC quality mark helps us achieve this goal.”
What is your best experience with CEBEC?
“Since 1991, we have been working together under the international CTF stage 3 program as a company lab. The tests are carried out in our company lab under the supervision of CEBEC.
“Furthermore, CEBEC carries out the factory inspections for the various other European labels, keeping the number of audits to a minimum.”
How has CEBEC helped you meet your legal requirements?
“The General Product Safety Regulation and the Low Voltage Directive are the most important legal requirements for Niko products. The test results obtained during the certification process of CEBEC form the basis for the Niko technical construction file within the framework of CE marking.”
What advice would you give to other companies considering CEBEC certification?
“For us, the cooperation has been essential to access the European market. Through this cooperation we can very easily obtain other quality marks used in the various European countries.
