For the toy industry, our global network of labs can conduct tests against all international or national standards (for example EU Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC, EN 71 standards, CPSIA, ASTM F963 and FDA standards). SGS can also help the toy industry comply with other legislation that also applies to products other than toys, such as legislation for hazardous substances in packaging material, articles that may come into contact with food, or cosmetics. For example, we can test against REACH, RoHS, and EMC regulations/directives.

Our pre-shipment testing (PST) checks that there has been no deviation in production and that the products actually comply with toy standards and client’s specifications. It is the last stage for product control before toys are displayed on store shelves and bought by parents.
