BRCGS ย่อมาจาก Brand Reputation through Compliance Global Standard เป็นมาตรฐานที่ได้รับการยอมรับโดย Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) ปัจจุบันอยู่ภายใต้การบริหารงานโดย LGC Group มาตรฐานนี้ถูกจัดพิมพ์ครั้งแรกในปี 1998 โดยใช้ชื่อ BRC Food Technical Standard มาตรฐานมีการปรับปรุงอย่างต่อเนื่องจนถึงเวอร์ชั่นปัจจุบัน ได้แก่ BRCGS Global Standard Food Safety Issue 9 ซึ่งเริ่มตรวจครั้งแรกเมื่อวันที่ 1 กุมภาพันธ์ 2023
BRCGS ได้จัดทำเอกสารขึ้นหลายฉบับ เพื่อช่วยสนับสนุนให้บริษัทที่ขอการรับรองเกิดความเข้าใจและประยุกต์ใช้ข้อกำหนดได้อย่างถูกต้อง เช่น Interpretation guideline, position statement, FAQ เป็นต้น บริษัทที่ผ่านการรับรองสามารถเข้าถึงข้อมูลที่มีประโยชน์เหล่านี้ได้โดยไม่มีค่าใช้จ่ายทาง website www.lgcassure.com/participate
นอกจากมาตรฐาน BRCGS Global Standard Food Safety Issue 9 แล้ว BRCGS ได้ออกแบบ voluntary module ที่สามารถตรวจพร้อมไปกับมาตรฐานหลักได้ เช่น additional module 11 meat supply chain assurance ถูกออกแบบมาเพื่อให้มีการควบคุมระบบสอบย้อนกลับของผลิตภัณฑ์จากเนื้อ additional module 13 FSMA เพื่อเป็นการเตรียมพร้อมผู้ผลิตที่ส่งออกสินค้าไปยังประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกาในการประยุกต์ใช้กฏหมาย FSMA
BRCGS ได้ออกแบบมาตรฐาน BRCGS Plant Based Global Standard และ BRCGS Gluten Free Certification Program (GFCP) สำหรับผู้ผลิตอาหารเฉพาะกลุ่มและสามารถใช้ logo บนฉลากสินค้าได้
มาตรฐานอื่นๆที่ BRCGS ได้พัฒนาขึ้นมา ได้แก่
- BRCGS Agent and Broker สำหรับผู้ประกอบการตัวแทนจำหน่ายอาหาร โดยลักษณะการทำงาน ไม่มีสถานที่ผลิตหรือจัดเก็บสินค้าของตนเอง
- BRCGS Storage and Distribution สำหรับผู้ประกอบการจัดเก็บและขนส่งอาหาร
- BRCGS Packaging Material สำหรับผู้ผลิตบรรจุภัณฑ์สำหรับอาหาร
- BRCGS Consumer Products สำหรับผู้ผลิตสินค้าอุปโภค เช่น แปรงสีฟัน ถุงมือ น้ำยาล้างจาน เครื่องสำอาง เป็นต้น
ใบรับรองของมาตรฐาน BRCGS มีอายุ 1 ปี มีรอบต่ออายุในรับรองทุก 1 ปี ระดับความไม่สอดคล้องแบ่งออกเป็น Minor Major Critical และ จำนวนของ CAR ถูกนำมาใช้พิจารณาเกรด ซึ่งแบ่งออกเป็น AA, A, B, C, D BRCGS มีการตรวจประเมินแบบไม่แจ้งให้ทราบล่วงหน้า หรือ Unannounced audit หนึ่งครั้งในรอบสามปี
BRCGS stands for Brand Reputation through Compliance Global Standard. It is a standard recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and is currently managed by LGC Group. This standard was first published in 1998 under the name BRC Food Technical Standard. The standard has been continuously updated, with the current version being BRCGS Global Standard Food Safety Issue 9, which started audits on February 1, 2023.
BRCGS has developed several documents to support companies seeking certification, helping them understand and correctly apply the requirements, such as interpretation guidelines, position statements, and FAQs. Certified companies can access these useful resources free of charge on the website www.lgcassure.com/participate.
In addition to the BRCGS Global Standard Food Safety Issue 9, BRCGS has designed voluntary modules that can be audited alongside the main standard, such as Additional Module 11 for Meat Supply Chain Assurance, which is designed to control traceability systems for meat products, and Additional Module 13 for FSMA, aimed at preparing producers who export products to the United States to comply with FSMA regulations.
BRCGS has also developed the BRCGS Plant-Based Global Standard and the BRCGS Gluten-Free Certification Program (GFCP) for specific food producers, allowing them to use the logo on their product labels.
Other standards developed by BRCGS include:
- BRCGS Agent and Broker for food distributors who do not have their own production or storage facilities.
- BRCGS Storage and Distribution for operators involved in the storage and transportation of food.
- BRCGS Packaging Material for food packaging manufacturers.
- BRCGS Consumer Products for manufacturers of consumer goods such as toothbrushes, gloves, dishwashing liquids, cosmetics, etc.
BRCGS certifications are valid for one year, with renewal audits every year. Non-conformities are categorized as Minor, Major, or Critical, and the number of Corrective Action Requests (CAR) is used to determine the grade, which ranges from AA, A, B, C, to D. BRCGS also conducts unannounced audits once every three years.
