Enhancing Team Competency: IR Thermography Level-I Certification

May 07, 2024

We are thrilled to announce that our team member, Mr. Mamoon ur Rasheed, has recently attained IR Thermography Level-I certification from the prestigious Infraspection Institute-USA.

We extend our warmest congratulations to him on this remarkable achievement!

Enhancing Team Competency IR Thermography Level I Certification

Infrared Thermography, also known as IR Thermography, is a technique that utilizes an infrared imaging and measurement camera to visualize and measure thermal energy emitted from an object.
Thermal energy, or infrared energy, is a form of light that is not visible to the human eye because its wavelength is longer than that of visible light. Essentially, it's the part of the electromagnetic spectrum that we perceive as heat. Every object with a temperature above absolute zero emits heat, including very cold objects like ice cubes. The higher the temperature of an object, the greater the amount of infrared radiation it emits.

IR thermography cameras produce images of this invisible infrared or "heat" radiation and provide precise non-contact temperature measurement capabilities. This technology is highly valuable as nearly everything gets hot before it fails, making infrared cameras cost-effective diagnostic tools in a wide range of applications.

As industries aim to enhance manufacturing efficiencies, manage energy consumption, improve product quality, and ensure worker safety, the applications for infrared cameras continue to expand.
IR Thermography Level-I certification provides comprehensive insight into major thermography applications such as electrical, mechanical, and building sciences. It also includes fundamental grounding in infrared theory, equipment selection, camera operation, industry standards, and standard-compliant reporting. Standards for thermography for various applications are covered, including ISO, ASNT NEETA, NFPA, and ASTM.

With this certification, Mr. Mamoon ur Rasheed and our team at SGS Pakistan can offer expertise in utilizing infrared thermography to:

  • Detect electrical faults, mechanical issues, and building deficiencies before they escalate.
  • Enhance workplace safety by identifying potential hazards such as overheating equipment or faulty electrical systems.
  • Reduce downtime and maintenance costs through preventive maintenance based on early detection of issues.
  • Provide precise non-contact temperature measurements in diverse applications across industries.

With SGS global expertise, we are dedicated to delivering comprehensive solutions that meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability for our clients.

IR Thermography certification opens doors to a world of possibilities in preventative maintenance. It's about detecting problems and preventing them before they disrupt operations. That's the value we bring to our clients.
