The Jordan-based Al Ameed Coffee Company has successfully passed certification audit of its production facility in accordance with FSSC 22000, a global food safety management system certification scheme.
SGS, an accredited third-party organization, conducted a rigorous audit process in order to grant Al Ameed Coffee Company its FSSC 22000 certified status.

Al Ameed Coffee Company is a family-owned business established in 1973 and specialized in coffee production. Their state-of-the-art plant is located in Amman, Jordan and occupies 13500 m2. Al Ameed Coffee Co.’s distribution network covers over 30 countries around the world.
To gain this international recognition, the company focused on manufacture of high-quality products. Therefore, meeting international standards in terms of safety and quality has been a natural choice for them.
Why FSSC 22000
When stablishing the food safety management system, Al Ameed Coffee Co. first opted for ISO 22000 certification.
However, in 2022 the decision was taken to go for FSSC 22000, the renowned certification scheme that includes ISO 22000 requirements but goes a step further in food safety management.
There were several reasons to go for FSSC 22000:
- To have better control over production processes to ensure that the final product is safe for consumers
- To meet the requirements of some export countries as part of the company’s strategy to expand geographical reach
From idea to certification
Thanks to the fact that the company had a robust ISO 22000-compliant management system, it took only 3 months for the team to get prepared to the FSSC 22000 certification audit.

During the certification audit, Al Ameed Coffee Co. demonstrated good food safety practices related to supply chain management, maintenance and quality control. Moving from ISO 22000 to FSSC 22000 will give the company impetus to further fine-tune their management system.
