AI Clearing has become the world's first organization to achieve ISO/IEC 5259-3 certification, alongside ISO/IEC 42001, following independent evaluation by SGS. Together, the certifications confirm rigorous governance of both AI management practices and the data quality underpinning AI Clearing's systems.
About AI Clearing
AI Clearing, headquartered in Austin, Texas, USA, is a global technology leader transforming construction monitoring across renewables, pipelines and linear infrastructure. At the heart of its system is AI Clearing CORE™, delivering AI-automated progress tracking, 3D visualization and real-time insights, complemented by mobile apps and Clara, a voice-enabled AI assistant. AI Clearing partners with 15 of the top 20 US infrastructure contractors, setting a new standard for construction worldwide.
Building trust in high-risk, data-intensive environments
AI Clearing operates in high-risk, data-intensive environments where AI transparency, data quality and governance are critical. To build trust with regulators and clients, the organization sought to demonstrate not only strong AI management practices, but also systematic control over the quality of the data used to train its AI.
A dual certification approach, from governance to data quality
We supported AI Clearing through a dual certification approach:
- ISO/IEC 42001 certification, assessing the organization's AI management system, governance structure and risk controls
- ISO/IEC 5259-3 certification, evaluating how AI training and validation data is defined, managed, assessed and monitored throughout the AI lifecycle
This included an independent evaluation of policies, processes and controls relating to AI governance and data quality management.
A world first in AI data quality assurance
AI Clearing became the world's first organization to achieve ISO/IEC 5259-3 certification, alongside ISO/IEC 42001. The certifications confirm AI Clearing's leadership in responsible AI and data quality management, providing strong assurance to customers, regulators and partners.
In their words
ISO/IEC 42001 and ISO/IEC 5259-3 validate that our AI systems are managed according to the most advanced standards and built on reliable, auditable data. With over 15 million labels and thousands of machine-learning iterations, data quality is the backbone of our AI. Working with SGS as a long-term partner was crucial to proving that our models are trustworthy and thoroughly verified before release.
