Thailand Postpones Compliance Date for Food Contact Paper Standard

SafeGuardSHardgoodsJuly 28, 2026

SG 103/26

Thailand delays enforcement of food contact paper product standard by 12 months.

In December 2025, Thailand mandated two national standards for two categories of food contact paper products (SafeGuardS 3/26). The first, TIS 3438-2565 (2022) ‘Food contact paper products for cooking with heat’ became effective on June 22, 2026.

However, in June 2026, Thailand’s Ministry of Industry issued a ministerial regulation announcing a one-year delay in the enforcement of the second standard, TIS 2948-2562 (2019), on food contact paper.

What does this regulation require?

Details of the new compliance date in the ministerial regulation are summarized in Table 1.
