Within the archaeological process, expertise plays a vital role. Critical actions are therefore restricted to specific named ‘actors’, which must meet all competence requirements. If you were previously recognized as a KNA-actor (Quality Dutch Archaeology), you need to be registered in the Actorregister Archeologie - the ‘Archaeology Actor Registry’ - which came in to force on July 1, 2016.
In parallel with KNA-recognition, Actorregister Archeologie registration requires documents that demonstrate your knowledge and experience. You must also prove that you continue to maintain your knowledge. This is based on a points system, or an education plan from your employer.
Entry in the Actorregister Archeologie demonstrates to employers, supervisors and principals that you are trained for your position, have the required competence and maintain your knowledge. To register in the Actorregister Archeologie, a transition period is in place from July 1, 2016 until July 1, 2017.
