In a significant achievement, SGS has been nominated as one of the top organizations for its exemplary commitment to health and safety in the 21st Contractors Senior Management HSE Workshop, held on December 13, 2023, at Regent Plaza, Karachi.
The workshop, organized by Prime Pakistan, marked a pivotal moment for recognizing leadership roles in building a robust HSE culture.
Prime Pakistan Ltd., an oil and gas exploration and production company, has been a strong presence in Pakistan since 1986. SGS, in collaboration with Prime Pakistan, has demonstrated a decade-long commitment as a contractor, fostering a strong partnership grounded in shared values of safety and environmental stewardship.
The 21st Contractors Senior Management HSE Workshop brought together 140 participants from 52 Contractor Companies. In this event, SGS was not only nominated as a top organization for complying with the HSE Pledge 2022 but emerged as a winner in this category.
The HSE Pledge, signed during the 20th Contractors' Senior Management HSE Workshop, outlined commitments to safety initiatives. They pledged to the following statement:

A notable highlight of the workshop was the panel discussion featuring Mr. Abdul Razzak Lakhani, Managing Director of SGS Pakistan, as a Guest Speaker. The panel, comprised of senior management personnel from contractors and a representative from Prime Pakistan, delved into critical aspects of HSE culture. Topics included tips and suggestions for strengthening HSE culture, challenges faced in building and maintaining safety culture, and sharing case studies or success stories demonstrating stewardship for strengthening HSE culture while achieving business objectives.
During the panel discussion, Mr. Lakhani shared valuable insights into SGS's best practices in the realm of health and safety. He shed light on how SGS has embraced digitalization in HSE tools, leveraging cutting-edge applications to revolutionize safety practices. The commitment to operational integrity (OI) and the effective utilization of digitalization have played a pivotal role in shaping SGS's approach to health and safety.
As the workshop concluded, contractors pledged to continue their commitment to HSE in 2023, signing a pledge to develop and execute a comprehensive internal HSE audit program involving top management in at least two HSE audits during 2024. They have pledged to the following statement:
