On World Quality Day last November 9, SGS has collaborated with the Bahrain Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MOIC) to launch SGS Talks in line with this year’s theme: Quality: Realizing Your Competitive Potential.
The event in Manama gathered industry leading quality professionals to celebrate this momentous occasion.
SGS Talks included an interesting mix of keynotes blended with interactive activities presented by speakers from the government and influential personalities in Bahrain. Roxanne Perreault, Manager at SGS Knowledge Solutions, spoke about the importance of quality during her welcome remarks highlighting ISO 9001 standard and other quality management standards.
Hosted by Mai Al Khatib, Presenter at Radio Bahrain 96.5, the event kicked off with a report from Eman Albastaki, Senior Standards Specialist at the MOIC to discuss their role in maintaining quality in local businesses. Latest standardization trends in Bahrain were discussed to help industry professionals uphold quality in their respective fields using quality standards.
The crowd cheered on with the inspirational talk titled The One and Only given by Mohamed Alshukri, Founder & CEO at Y Access Training Solutions Co, encouraging professionals to strive and become anyone’s first, best, and only pick by staying unrivaled.
The Power of Management Systems was thoroughly discussed by Fawaz Kuwaiti, Owner & CEO at Emerge Advisory & Consultancy, promoting how management systems pave the way for organizations to fulfil their vision and mission, no matter how ambitious.
The event concluded with a panel discussion tackling future trends and innovations in the certification industry that businesses and professionals should watch out for.
The attendees were delighted to connect with others from other companies who share our goal of raising standards and quality. Salem Alateyyat, Assistant Director of Quality Assurance and Accreditation at Bahrain Applied Science University thanked SGS and the event speakers for organizing this event: “Interestingly, I have learned from this event that meeting new people can even shape our DNA uniquely, as success in professional life is not limited to jobs!” he said.
