In a significant acknowledgment of their dedication to social impact and empowerment, SGS Academy Türkiye was chosen as the winner of the SGS EEME region CSR awards in the 'Youth and Education Development' category.
They received the esteemed Community Award for their exceptional contribution to the "Young Women Building Their Future Project," marking a notable achievement in their commitment to societal advancement.
Launched in Istanbul on February 23, 2022, in partnership with UNDP, the project's core mission was to address the systemic challenges faced by young women who are not engaged in employment, education, or training, known as NEET, in Türkiye.
SGS Academy Türkiye has taken a significant step in addressing these challenges by delivering targeted training sessions that not only aid NEET women in integrating into the workforce but also enhance their societal and economic participation. These sessions focus on improving skills and employability, thereby significantly increasing their employment opportunities.
The Trainings Scope
The training included comprehensive coverage of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards, with each standard receiving a dedicated day of training. The impact of this initiative has been profound, with eight groups and approximately 100 women benefiting from these sessions.
SGS Impact: 53% Employed
A year after SGS Academy's training, a survey revealed remarkable outcomes: 47% of participants stated the training aided their job search, 53% attributed it to securing jobs, and 69% reported that the certification notably improved their employment prospects, demonstrating the direct impact of the program on the employability of young women in Türkiye.
The success of the Young Women Building Their Future project lies not only in the numbers but in the testimonies of the participants, who have experienced firsthand the transformation that education and support can bring.
