Our comfort and performance wear testing evaluates and substantiates functional claims for active, leisure, outdoor and wellness apparel. Based on the intended end use, we develop tailored test programs covering fabrics, material systems and finished garments to verify performance attributes such as breathability, moisture management, UV protection, water resistance and durability – providing reliable evidence to support product claims and meet market expectations.
Consumers now expect garments to perform beyond traditional sports environments – from workouts to daily wear. Comfort, durability and functional performance must be maintained across different activities, environments and extended wear conditions. This requires textiles to deliver a balanced, multi-functional performance – combining properties such as moisture management, thermoregulation, compression and durability within a product.
Our comfort and performance wear testing services support product development, quality evaluation and claim substantiation across fabrics, fabric systems, and finished garments. By combining advanced laboratory methods with deep technical expertise, we help textile and footwear brands optimize product performance, verify product claims, differentiate their products and build lasting consumer trust.

FAQs
We support textile and footwear brands across the sports, outdoor and wellness categories, including sportswear, athleisure, swimwear, outdoor clothing, adventure and demanding sports apparel, and functional everyday garments. Our assessment covers the full value chain, from raw materials to finished products.
We evaluate water resistance at both the fabric and finished product levels. Standard tests are used to assess the water-repellency performance of materials, while finished garments are tested using our manikin-based e-shower technique.
This advanced method simulates real-world rainfall on the whole garment, enabling assessment of water penetration, wetting distribution and penetration points over time. By combining material testing with realistic garment-level evaluation, we provide a more complete understanding of overall protective performance.
We evaluate thermal performance at both the material level and the finished product level, providing comprehensive insights to support product development and performance validation.
At the raw material and fabric composite stage, we use the “skin model” hotplate method to measure thermal resistance. This approach assesses the insulating performance of individual materials and fabric systems, enabling performance comparison and benchmarking during early-stage development.
At the finished product level (garments, sleeping bags and gloves), we apply thermal manikin testing to simulate real-use conditions. This method determines the total thermal resistance and temperature rating of the complete product, allowing brands to validate warmth-retention performance and substantiate product claims. The results also help guide product optimization and support consumers in selecting products suited to their intended conditions.
