To enhance the ESG disclosure landscape of Hong Kong and move faster to align with the international trends, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) published the “Consultation Paper on Enhancement of Climate-related Disclosures Under the Environmental, Social and Governance Framework" in April 2023.
There are many proposed new requirements developed based on Climate-related disclosure in accordance with TCFD (Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures) recommendations and the climate standard of ISSB (International Sustainability Standards Board). They will be effective in the financial year commencing on or after 1 January 2024 if passed.
