We are pleased to announce the signing of a collaboration agreement with The Incorporated Trustees of the Islamic Community Fund of Hong Kong, Board of Trustees (BOT) Management Office, to support BOT in strengthening the assurance-related aspects of its Halal certification services in Hong Kong and across the region.
This collaboration reflects the shared mission of both parties to promote the use of applicable international standards for Halal certified food and non food products categories. As global demand for Halal-compliant products continues to rise, particularly in markets connected to “Belt and Road Initiative” countries, this partnership further reinforces Hong Kong’s position as a strategic gateway supporting regional Halal trade and market connectivity, fostering deeper market integration.
Through this collaboration, we will support BOT by:
- Strengthening industry awareness and understanding of the relevant certification and its assurance services and facilitating the wider development of Halal-certified food and non-food product categories in Hong Kong and key regional markets.
- Providing assurance-related service support in accordance with international standards applicable to the Halal certifications.
By leveraging our global expertise in testing, inspection and certification, we aim to support BOT in maintaining a robust, transparent and credible Halal assurance services framework, helping ensure that consumers in Hong Kong and key regional markets can gain a deeper understanding of verified Halal-certified products.
This collaboration also aligns with Hong Kong’s efforts to deepen cooperation under the “Belt and Road Initiative” by supporting cross border trade, market expansion and the development of a more reliable and transparent Halal-related supply chain across participating economies.

The collaboration agreement was signed by Mr. Saeed-Uddin, Chairman, The Incorporated Trustees of the Islamic Community Fund of Hong Kong (Right) and Ms. Miranda Kwan, Director of Business Assurance, SGS in Hong Kong (Left).
