We are pleased to announce that The Jardine Engineering Corporation Limited (JEC) has successfully obtained ISO 19650-1:2018 and ISO 19650-2:2018 certification.
ISO 19650 is an international standard for Information Management Using Building Information Modelling (BIM), designed to enable effective and efficient management of construction projects. This makes JEC one of Hong Kong’s first engineering services providers to be awarded ISO 19650 certification.
This milestone reflects JEC’s unwavering commitment to innovation, operational excellence and digital transformation. By aligning with ISO 19650, JEC reinforces its ability to deliver high quality, data driven solutions through standardized workflows and enhanced stakeholder confidence.
The certification journey included a comprehensive gap analysis followed by Stage 1and Stage 2 assessments. JEC embraced the process as a strategic opportunity to refine its documentation and strengthen its internal capabilities.
Through SGS’s independent third-party audit process, JEC has developed a set of BIM tools and templates, including its own BIM guidelines, BIM Execution Plan (BEP) template, and organizational information requirements (OIR). The team also introduced several pre-BEP documents, such as BIM capability assessment form, mobilization plan, risk register, and risk mitigation measures, to enhance the systematic approach and risk control in project management.
The ISO 19650 framework has empowered JEC to build a solid BIM foundation and a centralized documentation system, while also aligning team members around consistent procedures and best practices.
