We are pleased to announce that our new toy safety training course is now available – book now.
Toy safety professionals are invited to deepen their understanding of global compliance at the “2026 Introduction to Global Toy Safety Requirements & UK Lab Tour”, taking place on March 4, 2026, at SGS laboratory in Manchester.
Running from 10:00am to 1:00pm, this focused training course offers a practical overview of toy safety regulations across key global markets, including the latest updates to European and UK toy legislation. You will gain clear insights into the legal responsibilities of manufacturers, importers, and retailers throughout the supply chain, helping your businesses stay compliant in an increasingly complex regulatory landscape.
The course covers essential topics such as age grading, chemical and physical testing requirements, common causes of failures and recalls, and guidance on correctly applying CE and UKCA markings, warnings, and labels. You will also learn when testing is required, what laboratories assess and how to interpret test results with confidence.
Led by Rob Hinchcliffe, UK Hardlines Manager for SGS, the session combines regulatory expertise with real-world industry experience. Rob brings over a decade of experience in the testing, inspection and certification (TIC) and hardlines sectors, supporting customers globally with technical advice and training.
The training concludes with a guided tour of our brand-new Manchester testing facility, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at both physical and chemical toy testing in action.
For anyone involved in toy design, manufacturing, sourcing or compliance, this course offers valuable, hands-on insights into global toy safety requirements for 2026 and beyond.
