The Standard 11 Surface Mining Induction course provides training on the skills and knowledge required to meet the Queensland regulatory requirements for working in open-cut coal mining operations in Queensland.

Participants must be able to perform at least two minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (five cycles of both compressions and ventilations) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor. You will also need to lift and carry a fire extinguisher to extinguish a fire.
Language, literacy and numeracy skills are required at a level to read, complete, interpret and communicate workplace documentation relevant to the training.

Participants will need to successfully complete and submit the On-Site Verification Workbook to SGS Australia Pty Ltd to be verified within six months of completing the theory course. Upon successful completion of the course requirements and on-site verification, a Photo ID Induction Card valid for five years and a Statement of Attainment will be issued for:
