All electrical work, including repair, installation and alteration is to be undertaken strictly in accordance with the Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Regulation 2014 and associated Australian standards and site standards of engineering practice. This course will inform you of the specific standards and responsibilities that are relevant for authorisation as a low voltage electrical tradesperson in the mining industry.

Participants should have language, literacy and numeracy skills at the level required to read, complete, interpret and communicate workplace documentation relevant to the training.

Electricians and contractors who have been identified as requiring this training to perform their role on a mine site.

On successful completion of the course requirements, a Certificate of Completion and Wallet Card will be issued for the Low Voltage Electrical Training Course.
Each mine site may have its own refresher period requirements. Please check with the mine site where you will be working. Generally, industry specific requirements vary from every 12 months to every 2 years.
