This course is for anyone in the food industry who works with food.

This includes individuals who work under broad direction and take responsibility for their own work, with limited responsibility for the work of others, and who participate in the development of a food safety program typically limited to their immediate work area.

This is a Nationally Recognised course delivered by SGS Australia Pty Ltd RTO #2646.

On successful completion of the course you will be awarded Nationally Recognised units of competency:

  • FBPFSY3002 – Participate in a HACCP team

The course is refreshed every three years. Each retailer may have its own refresher period requirements. Please check with the retailer where you will be working for their requirements.

Learners who take this course should need refresher training to meet retailer requirements and have:

  • Prior knowledge of food safety hazards, food microbiology and working in a food catering establishment
  • Already completed in the last five years either:
    • The unit of competency (or its predecessor), or
    • A two- or three-day Accredited HACCP course, or
    • A two- or three-day SGS HACCP Course

This HACCP refresher training course runs for one day, either in a classroom environment or as virtual instructor led training (VILT).

VILT is training delivered through a virtual environment, with instructor and learner in separate locations. It allows learners to:

  • Interact remotely, in real time, with the instructor and the group
  • Experience the benefits of face to face learning, while using technology to manage distance
  • Interact socially and develop connections with other learners
