Calibration and Dimensional Testing Inspection

Calibration and dimensional testing (inspection) from SGS – ensuring that precision instruments are regularly and accurately calibrated.

Precision instruments are used across a range of industries to provide accurate measurements. Making accurate measurements using precision instruments requires that they are regularly and accurately calibrated.

Calibration, the process by which an instrument is used to measure a standard of known or assigned correctness, enables any difference to be assessed and corrected, thereby ensuring accurate measurement. With SGS as your measurement instrumentation calibration partner, you can be sure of the highest degree of measurement accuracy, helping you to maintain client confidence and preventing costly errors.

Why choose SGS?

Our experts have many years of experience across a range of industries including oil and gas, chemicals, aerospace, nuclear, manufacturing and automotive giving assurance that your equipment will be professionally serviced to the highest standard. We are ISO 17025 accredited for a range of measurements in the fields of dimensional, electrical, pressure, torque, temperature and humidity for metering and instrumentation, gauges, measuring instruments and machines.

On-line Calibration Management System

We are able to provide access to your calibration certificates on-line, with secure 24/7 access from any location. Our Bluestar system will provide email reminders in advance of when your equipment requires calibration, ensuring that you keep your measurements accurate. Furthermore, the calibration history of each item of equipment can be readily viewed for trend analysis, predicting likely failures in the future.

CMM Dimensional Testing (Inspection)

A coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is a device for measuring the physical geometrical characteristics of an object in three dimensions. A CMM can be used to measure complex components, from turbine blades through to engine drive shafts. This technology can be used to measure any component accurately, as well as to measure multiple components utilizing a Computer Numeric Control program. This will determine conformity to the tolerances provided by technical drawings or CAD models. SGS is ISO 17025 accredited for dimensional testing (inspection).

In addition, we provide metrology services for First Article Inspections (FAIRS), Visual Inspections and Final Inspections.
