China releases an updated product standard for knitted yoga garments – FZ/T 74005-2025.
The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has issued an updated industry standard for knitted yoga garments – FZ/T 74005-2025. Included in Announcement No. 41 of approved industry standards in 2025, it replaces the previous version, FZ/T 74005-2016, and will become effective on January 1, 2028.
Scope
This document applies to knitted yoga garments.
Quality requirements
These include internal quality and appearance requirements.
The requirements of internal quality shall comply with Table 1 of FZ/T 74005-2025. The test items include fiber content, formaldehyde content, pH value, odor, decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amines, colorfastness to washing with soap or soap and soda, colorfastness to rubbing, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to transfer in joints, the staining of the washing solution, pilling resistance, maximum force to seam rupture, dimensional change rate after washing, spirality after washing, elongation under fixed tension, elastic recovery under fixed tension, absorption and quick-drying and appearance quality after washing.
Appearance requirements should be referred to in clause 5.3 of FZ/T 74005-2025.

Compared with FZ/T 74005-2016, FZ/T 74005-2025 contains numerous updates, including:

- Requirements, assessment notes and test methods for the staining of the washing solution
- Requirements, assessment notes and test methods for maximum force to seam rupture

- Assessment requirements for colorfastness, with additional assessment notes
- Assessment notes for pilling resistance
- Requirements for dimensional change rate after washing, spirality after washing, tensile elastic elongation rate, tensile elastic recovery rate and appearance quality after washing
- Requirements for color difference in surface defects
- Requirements for sewing specifications
- Test method for dimensional change rate after washing
- Test methods for tensile elastic elongation rate and tensile elastic recovery rate
- Test method for appearance quality
- Statements on sampling rules and conformity assessment rules
- Requirements for instructions for use.
Deleted:
- Requirement contents (see 4.1 of the 2016 edition)
- Assessment requirements for bursting strength
- Provisions for errors in inner and outer package markings
