Your vessel’s fuel system and components must comply with a range of marine requirements. We offer comprehensive testing services for marine fuel systems and components to help you confirm compliance with applicable specifications and regulations.
High-temperature marine fuel system aging
We can provide dedicated soak areas for accelerated and long-term aging of your marine fuel system and components. Soak temperatures in various Class I facilities range in temperature based on your needs. We closely monitor and control temperatures to ensure consistency. To prevent hydrocarbon (HC) surface cross-contamination, test specimens are vented individually, by fuel type, through an exhaust system, where appropriate.
We have an extensive range of environmental chambers for thermal cycling, from small reach-ins to large walk-ins, supporting a wide range of temperatures. Thermal shock testing is also available. We offer test chambers that are safe and explosion rated, enabling us to safely conduct thermal cycling using fuel or flammable materials.
Marine fuel tank testing
We provide a comprehensive range of marine fuel tank tests, including:
- Tilt slosh testing
- Fuel pump and fuel delivery module testing
- Level sender durability testing

Marine fuel line testing
We can perform many of the various tests needed for marine fuel hoses from OEM specifications or one of the many SAE procedures, including J1527, J1737, J2044, J2045 and more. Our team can also conduct long-term fuel recirculation testing at elevated temperatures using aggressive gasoline and diesel fuels, as well as hose permeation testing using both evaporative and weight-loss methodologies.
Level sender durability
Level sender and module durability testing can be performed on a variety of fuels, including alcohol blends, diesel and bio-diesel. With a wide range of individual positions in tanks for test components, we can handle large programs with multiple fuels simultaneously. Fuel temperatures and sender resistance can be continuously monitored and recorded throughout testing.
Pressure vacuum and burst testing
We offer pressure and vacuum testing over a wide range of fuel system products for both marine and non-marine applications. Displacement measurements utilizing Linear Voltage Displacement Transducers (LVDTs), or linear potentiometers, can be continuously monitored throughout the testing process. Pressure vacuum tests can be conducted using air, water or fuel.
Pressure burst tests can be conducted to determine the strength of fuel storage and delivery of system components. Testing can be conducted at ambient or elevated temperatures.
Fire resistance testing
We can perform various fire resistance and burn rate tests, including ISO 21487, H24, H25 and H33, ranging from materials, hoses and coupons, all the way up to gasoline and diesel tanks.
