Global competition for talent continues to accelerate, with companies, industry sectors and markets looking to attract the same pool of highly skilled people. A feature of this is the increased mobility of highly skilled workers, particularly in science and technology-based industries. The migration of talent plays an important role in shaping skilled labor forces throughout developing countries, diffusing knowledge, boosting innovation, and enhancing career opportunities locally.
Our ability to acquire, manage, develop and retain talent in a consistent manner is essential to SGS. It relies on us having highly skilled recruitment managers capable of acquiring talented employees to deliver outstanding services to our customers. Our geographic spread, variety of business lines and approach to sourcing talent locally, wherever possible, means we need to attract different people from different places, but all exceptional in their fields. Staff turnover is tracked via our Green Book and is closely monitored at global and affiliate levels in order to bring our performance in line with our target to maintain our natural turnover rate at no more than 10%.
