Energy and Climate Change
Why is this Issue Material to SGS?
Climate change is one of the most important environmental issues of our time. 2013 has seen global warming, access to energy, and alternative fuels continue to be key topics on the international agenda. The latest reports reconfirm international scientific consensus on the global implications of climate change.
As a global company, we are concerned about the potential impacts of climate change on the regions and communities in which we operate. Although our industry is not a major emitter of greenhouse gases, our employees, customers and other stakeholders expect SGS to show leadership on climate change, both in terms of our own energy consumption and by helping our customers and suppliers to reduce their emissions.
