Welcome to our fifth annual sustainability report, covering January 1 – December 31, 2013.
It has been another exciting year for sustainability in SGS, with innovative projects and external recognition of our progress, but also challenges we continue to work on. See our 2013 Sustainability Highlights for an overview of how we contribute to sustainability, demonstrated by case studies from our operations and services, and a summary of performance.
Our reporting is based on an annual assessment of the most important (“material”) sustainability topics for SGS, informed by stakeholder engagement. We group our most material topics by our four sustainability pillars: Professional Excellence, People, Environment and Community. Please use our 2013 materiality matrix to find our approach, performance and future commitments for each material topic. Our full performance data is available in our Data Bank.
Our 2013 report is in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative’s (GRI) "G4-Comprehensive" Guidelines. See our GRI Content Index and Assurance statements for more information.
