SGS Volunteers Help with the Restoration of the Natural Park of Serralada Marina
On June 17, 2017, a team of 26 employees from SGS Spain and their relatives collaborated with Sèlvans Association to design and participate in Environmental Volunteer Day at the Natural Park of Serralada Marina in Badalona.
The activity was led by the park manager with the active cooperation of Barcelona's authorities.
The day began with the building of an insect hotel, which was later donated to the ecological and social market garden situated in Sant Jeroni de la Murtra. Later, volunteers marked out the boundaries of the garden and removed waste created during the day's activities.
After making these great efforts, the volunteers participated in an agroecology masterclass. They also learned about social projects that are being carried out by the park's community.
By the end of the day, the volunteers had played an important role in helping with the restoration and environmental improvement of the park, ensuring its continued status as an important natural heritage and conservation site.
