SGS Philippines Sends Guardian Angels to Children Undergoing Heart Surgery
SGS Philippines is partnering with the Rotary Club on its Gift of Life project, which sponsors heart operations for children with congenital heart disease.
Rather than looking for financial support, the Rotary Club was seeking a partner to provide social support to the children during their therapy.
In the initial phase of the partnership, 12 SGS employees have volunteered to become “guardian angels” to three children, aged between four months and seven years, who are undergoing heart surgery. Our employees are forming close relationships with the children and their families, and will stay in contact with the children following their operations, visiting them in their homes and offering practical support, such as making sure that they attend check up appointments.
This project particularly emphasizes our commitment to sustainable actions. It is important that we commit to supporting each child for as long as required. We expect our employees to benefit from providing meaningful support to those in need and to be motivated to continue volunteering for this project and others.
