Connectivity product recalls in the EU increase by 33% on the previous quarter.
Connectivity product recalls increased by 17% in the USA in comparison with Q3 2021. In the EU, recalls of connectivity products increased by 33%.
In the USA, 7 products were recalled. The top categories for recall were audio, video and household appliances and IT and telecommunications – 3 recalls for each category, with the main risks being fire and burns.
The EU saw 81 recalls with the top category being IT and telecommunications, for which electric shock was the main risk. Audio, video and household appliances saw an increase in recalls, at 44%, with electric shock as the main risk. Within this category, three mini portable fans were recalled and for the first time environmental is noted as the main risk.
