SafeGuardSHardgoodsOctober 05, 2021

India is proposing to increase the number of specific migration of substances from food contact plastics. Comments are accepted until November 5, 2021.

On September 6, 2021, India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued a notification to amend the nation’s Food Safety and Standards (Packaging) Regulations, 2018. The draft Food Safety and Standards (Packaging) Amendment Regulations, 2021 would expand the number of specific migration of substances in food contact plastics from seven to nine by including antimony and bis 2-(ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP).

According to the notification, comments will be accepted until November 5, 2021.
